The clever hack has been seen by millions on TikTok who were shocked to find that the natural cleaning products were used to remove the black marks from the pan without having to spend hours scrubbing.

“ I fell for the TikTok cleaning hack and tried this today and I can safely say all the pots will be ready, ” Sara wrote, posting before and after images to a popular cleaning Facebook group.

To clean the pan, place it upside down on the work surface and evenly sprinkle a generous amount of salt and sodium bicarbonate over it.

Then drizzle some dish soap and sand the pan to combine the products.

Next, cover the bottom of the pan with a few paper towels and pour over the white vinegar just enough to moisten the paper towels.

Let the wet paper towels soak for five minutes to allow the natural products to react with each other, then remove and rinse.

Some of my pots needed some extra elbow grease because it has crap for four years, so I scrubbed more after removing a paper towel. Have a nice day, ”Sara said.

How to Transform Old Pots and Pans

What you need:

  • salt
  • Baking soda
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Paper towel
  • white vinegar

Method:

Sprinkle an even amount of salt and sodium bicarbonate on the bottom of a pan

Drizzle some dish soap over the top and sand it off – the amount of time this will take will depend on the density of the stains

Place a few paper towels on top and pour some white vinegar over it

Leave on for a few minutes for the products to react together

Remove the paper towel and wash the pan
