Tim David was fined after the Australian cricket star was caught cheating during an IPL match.

David, 28, and Mumbai Indians batting coach Kieron Pollard were caught on camera telling teammate Suryakumar Yadav to use a review to check a wide delivery.

This year’s new rules have allowed the use of DRS to allow batsmen to dispute “wide” decisions by umpires.

However, players sitting in the dugout are strictly prohibited from telling their teammates on the field whether they should check or not.

Both David and Pollard were caught red-handed when they were seen signaling for a review after watching a replay of a submission that should have been declared open.

Yadav quickly reviewed it and Mumbai were given width, resulting in the team adding another run to their tally and the ball being turned over again.

David and Pollard committed a Level 1 offense under the IPL Code of Conduct, officials felt.

The violation states that a player may not “seek assistance from any person off the field of play in deciding whether to request a referral to the television referee.”

In a statement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said: “David and Pollard were each fined 20 per cent of their respective match fees.” Both admitted the infraction and accepted the sanction from the match referee.
