A stray snake found on a busy street has been bravely rescued by a bus driver who pulled it out of the way of oncoming traffic with his bare hands.
The snake appeared on a main road in Tugun on the Gold Coast, stunned onlookers when a bus driver stopped and jumped out of the vehicle.
In video shot by a bystander stuck in traffic, the uniformed driver is seen walking up to the snake and boldly lifting it up by its tail.
He then pulls it to the side of the road as the reptile tries to hit him a few times.
Every time the driver nonchalantly moves out of the way of danger.
A bus driver has been caught stopping his vehicle in order to remove a large snake from a busy street in Tugun on the Gold Coast.
The driver then carefully places his slippery obstacle on a patch of grass next to a footpath and local shops before pulling away to resume his route.
A man is also seen on the sidewalk looking in complete disbelief at what he just witnessed.
The driver gestured towards the road and appears to tell the viewer that he had just moved him out of the way of traffic, before returning to the bus and continuing on his way.
Social media users called the bus driver’s actions “typical” of a Queenslander.
‘Tell me you live in Queensland without telling me you live in Queensland,’ one person said.
“Haha just throw it near stores and sidewalk love it,” wrote another.
As he was pulling the snake off the road, the reptile tried to hit him a couple of times, but each time the driver nonchalantly backed away. He then put the snake on the grassy area outside a set of shops.
