Olympic boxing star Harry Garside has revealed dramatically that he is at a career crossroads and is not sure if he will ever reign again before appearing on I’m a Celebrity’s reality TV show Get Me Out of Here.
The 25-year-old former plumber, ballet dancer, and future world champion has admitted that his fighting career is currently up in the air and that he has some big decisions to make.
‘To be honest,’ said Garside, ‘I’m hesitant and hope the woods are where I can explore a little bit more with all the free time. The Daily Telegraph.
“I really hope that by then I will have some answers about the direction I want to go when it comes to boxing and the future of my life.”
The Olympic bronze medalist and Commonwealth gold medalist has not fought since May last year when he suffered a hand injury that required surgery.

The 25-year-old former plumber, ballet dancer and future world champion has admitted his boxing career is now up in the air.
He says he now sees three different options for himself.
“There is professional boxing, I prepared myself for life, to win a world title, to make a lot of money,” he said.
Then there is amateur boxing, honor and pride, Australia has never won an Olympic gold medal, and I would like to be the first. And then also, potentially get away from boxing altogether and start a family or put my mind in a business direction or whatever.
“It’s the three options, personally my heart and love is still in boxing so I think the third is probably not really an option but it still has to be on the cards I think.”
Garside is competing in the latest series of Channel Ten’s reality show, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here in Africa.
His decision to appear on the show caused legendary boxing trainer Johnny Lewis to dump Garside abruptly.
“The ingredients to being a world champion are hard work and commitment,” Lewis said.
You can’t keep fighting back. There are no short cuts in the fighting game. I’m actually really frustrated but I really wish him the best even though I’m not sure he chose the right path.

Garside never responded to the media after Luis dumped him, instead choosing to talk to his parents.

The world-ranked boxer maintains that he still “loves” Louis even though the couple are going their separate ways.
