An Australian IT employee accused of killing a grandfather when he allegedly threw a bottle of wine from a high balcony in Singapore may want to stay in jail, his lawyer says.
Andrew Gosling reportedly threw the $ 40 bottle of Polissena II Boro from the seventh floor of the Spottiswoode 18 condominium and hit the 73-year-old Nasiari Sunee in the head.
The 47-year-old shares a cell with three prisoners in the Central Police Division and is afraid of a retaliation attack on the outside, after reports that the local population was angry at his alleged actions.
Gosling & # 39; s lawyer Gloria James told 9News that her client undergoes a psychiatric assessment and can choose to stay indoors even if he wins his bail request.

& # 39; There is a possibility that Andrew would not want to be saved, & # 39; said Mrs. James.
& # 39; He fears for his safety. & # 39;
Mr. Gosling waited 10 days before turning himself in, after the police knocked through the building and asked for fingerprints from residents.
Mrs. James says that Gosling suffers spiritually.
& # 39; He was clearly distraught and suffering. He was shaking and trembling as he spoke. He was also in tears because he did not expect his act to cause the death of anyone, & Mrs. James said.
Mr Gosling's lawyers have returned to Melbourne to gather evidence that they say he has good character.
His mother Pam appeared 7News this week he said his alleged actions were not natural.
& # 39; It's not like him at all. He is nice, he cares – he has no malignant bone in his body, & Pam said.
