A missing three-year-old girl has been found dead in a storm drain, with a 27-year-old man charged with manslaughter.
The girl and a two-year-old boy from Kelso in Townsville were reported missing to police at 6:40 p.m. Saturday night, sparking a desperate search for the children.
Just after 8:20 p.m., authorities found the young girl’s body in a nearby storm drain.
She was rushed to Townsville University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The man has been charged with one time manslaughter, endangering children through exposure and driving under the influence of a drug.
He is known by the children.
The two-year-old boy was found on the street shortly after the young children were reported missing.
The man will face Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow after being denied bail.
