An irate customer called Australia Post after CCTV showed a driver’s excuse for not delivering a parcel was incorrect.

The man was alerted that his package could not be delivered to his home in Ningi, north of Brisbane, last Friday due to a “locked door”.

“Good job AusPost,” he captioned a photo on Facebook showing the “attempted delivery” alert on his phone along with a clip of his CCTV footage.

The screenshot showed the front door wide open around the same time Australia Post claimed they attempted the delivery.

The photo was flooded with comments from Australians claiming to have encountered the same problem with the postal service.

A customer called Australia Post after receiving an alert that their package could not be delivered to their home in Ningi due to a “closed door”. The photo on the right shows the CCTV showing the front door wide open.

‘This just happened to my sister too, also in Ningi. They didn’t even knock on the door,” one person wrote.

‘I swear they didn’t get out of the truck, the camera would have caught it, they must all be the same lazy person,’ the man responded.

While many encouraged the man to report the incident, many others shared details of their own experiences.

‘They used to enter our entrance at high speed, we had two entrances. On, throw the delivery, [and] in exactly 5 seconds. Total joke, shame about the wildlife on our property and god forbid if you had breakable items in the package,” one person said.

Yesterday my husband saw the delivery man stop and then walk away; then the message came that the package would be dropped off at the post office. “I didn’t even try to deliver,” wrote another.

A third wrote: ‘Aus Post deliveries in Ningi suck. They only give me one in three items,” commented a third person.

Another commented: ‘I have stairs and they don’t even bother to deliver. It goes straight to the post office to pick it up, which is annoying.”

Australia Post has launched an investigation into the “closed door” incident.

Australia Post takes its responsibility to deliver mail and parcels seriously and will investigate this matter,” a spokesperson said. Yahoo News Australia.

“If a delivery does not meet the high standards we expect, we encourage customers to contact us directly.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Australia Post for further comment.
