Aussies needed for jobs paying up to $150k – and some don’t require any qualifications

Mines in north and central Queensland are offering up to $150,000 a year to fill positions, with some jobs requiring no qualification.

Australia’s mining industry is suffering from crippling shortages, as people avoid jobs seen as ‘dirty’ work more often in remote regions.

Now major mining and logistics companies in the Bowen Basin, including Aurizon and TerraCom, are luring Australians into a mining career with the offer of high wages and extensive training.

There are currently over 50 high-paying jobs available at all skill levels, from the untrained to industry experts.

Several of the positions also offer attractive benefits such as housing allowances and six weeks of annual vacation.

Most of the jobs on offer are non-FIFO, which means you won’t be able to fly in and out of the job site, but rather live nearby and rotate on a 24/7 roster.

Many of the jobs are paying more than $147,000, including roles as coal quality testers in the Bowen region.

The position includes full training and only requires applications for non-specific skills, such as numeracy and literacy, and “good computer/tech proficiency.”

TerraCom is advertising trainee mine operators with no specific requirements, while Aurizon is looking for “safety-oriented and enthusiastic individuals” to become trainee train drivers.
