Shoppers are furious over the price of a $6.50 Cadbury Easter bunny being sold at a major supermarket months before the holiday.

The customer posted a photo of the 80g Cadbury Bunny on Coles shelves on Reddit, with users sharing their disbelief at the price.

‘This is getting ridiculous: $6.50!’ the buyer wrote on Monday.

‘Even at half price, for 80 grams of chocolate? Very fucked up!’ one person wrote.

“I’m really sick of the half price roundabout that Woolies and Coles use for almost everything these days,” a second agreed.

‘Yes, most of the prices are screwed, don’t buy their stuff if you don’t need it. Easter things are not necessary. “If you want chocolate, buy it when you can get it at an acceptable price,” a third suggested.

However, others disagreed and said the price of the product was reasonable.

‘This is absolutely fair to a lot of people. I can afford it and I have time to shop in the markets,” one person wrote.

‘Not all price increases are due to abusive price increases. The price of cocoa is now four times higher than in 2023,” another person wrote.

“Why do people walk into Coles and Woolies and complain about overpricing…holy smokes…go somewhere else!” said a third.

Others pointed to the sale of Easter products starting with the April holiday.

‘It makes me even more angry that it’s January and we’re seeing this!’ one person wrote.

‘It’s fucking January! Another agreed.

A 150g Cadbury Milk Chocolate Easter Bunny costs $8 on the Coles website.

A similar 100g Easter bunny sells for $7.60 at Woolworths.

This bunny price shock came after outrage over the price of Easter bunnies sold in supermarkets last year.

Customers were horrified to discover a 250g Cadbury Dairy Milk Easter Bunny was selling for $10 after a separate image of the product was also uploaded to Reddit.

“It’s a 250 gram chocolate, very expensive,” one person wrote.

‘The prices are ridiculous!’ another person wrote.

“Inflation is officially out of control,” added a third.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Coles and Woolworths for further comment.
