An Australian woman has detailed the horrifying moment her beloved dog was ‘chased’ and landed on top of a toddler as his mother watched and smiled.

Karina Irby, a Queensland-based body positive influencer and entrepreneur, was walking her 12-year-old chihuahua, named Billie, on the local beach when a small child began chasing and throwing sand and water at the pet.

After several pleas for the girl to stop, Karina said the mother did nothing to reprimand her daughter or intervene.

On Instagram, the 35-year-old described the incident as “five minutes of torture.”

“Some people really have NO idea,” he began.

“I was by the water with Billie, who is 12, I might add. A mother and her four-year-old daughter walked by and her daughter wanted to play with Billie.

‘Totally fine and super cute for a minute, until the boy chased Billie into the water and FELL on top of her!’

Karina noted that the mother apologized on her daughter’s behalf for falling on the dog, but proceeded to chase it even after trying to walk away.

‘(She) then allowed her daughter to chase us up and down the water, even though I was moving further away from them. “This lasted at least five minutes of torture,” he added.

‘The mother let her son not only chase us but also THROW WATER and SAND at Bille!!! What the fuck!?

‘I even politely told the girl to stop throwing water and sand at her. The mother simply watched with a smile on her face.

“I literally picked Billie, apologized out loud that we couldn’t play in the water, and took her.”

Karina said the ordeal left her “feeling really disappointed in humanity.”

“On the one hand, parents need to do better,” he said. ‘And two, dogs aren’t just “dogs.” She is my damn princess, my girl, my absolute WORLD. Don’t treat her like a “dog.”

Karina, who considers her beloved dogs her ‘babies’, recently sparked outrage when she revealed the real reason she doesn’t want to have children.

In December, the Moana Swim founder posted a lengthy Instagram post saying that having children would take more of her life than she’s willing to give.

While she received an outpouring of support from her 1.1 million followers, others in the comments were outraged by the body positive influencer’s reasoning.

The reaction began when Karina uploaded several selfies of her enjoying life, along with messages she had received from fans asking why she didn’t want to have children.

Karina then went on to explain: ‘I know I would be a fantastic mother, but the thought of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and having a healthy baby terrifies me.

‘I fear losing myself, my identity, and eventually resenting my son. Raising a child in a world plagued by global warming, endless wars and rising costs seems selfish to me.’

Karina went on to say that she is also afraid of having a child who will one day grow up and not like or respect her.

He added that he “would no longer be able to run my companies, something I love and have worked so hard for,” and he is “afraid” to “regret the loss of my freedom.”

“People tell me I’m missing out on life’s greatest gift, but having children would actually take away life’s greatest gift.”
