Aussie woman ‘accidentally’ wins $5million Lotto prize – and reveals incredible plans for the money

An Australian woman had her Friday morning turned upside down after discovering she had won more than $5 million in last night’s Powerball drawing.

The woman from Logan, Queensland, had the only division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1447, drawn on Thursday, February 8, 2024. She took home a total prize of $5,098,926.32.

‘Oh Lord! Oh Lord! Oh Lord!’ The winning woman was left breathless when an official from The Lott called to confirm her windfall.

‘I don’t even know what to say!

‘What the hell happened?

‘Sorry, I’m struggling to process this news.

‘It was almost an accidental purchase! My husband usually buys our tickets, but he was having some problems, so I said, ‘Oh, I’ll go ahead and do it.’

The winning numbers in Powerball drawing 1447 on Thursday, February 8, 2024 were 25, 12, 6, 20, 26, 16 and 7. The most important Powerball number was 2.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Powerball

1447 – One in Queensland.

The Lott’s division one winner count has reached 249 so far in FY24, including 57 won by Golden Casket customers.

In 2023, 20 Powerball division one winning entries across Australia pocketed more than $552.15 million in prizes.

During this time, a Bankstown dad hit a $100 million jackpot and became the second biggest Australian lottery winner of all time.

Of the 20 Powerball division one winning entries in 2023, eight landed in New South Wales, seven in Victoria, two each in South Australia and Western Australia, and one in Queensland.
