A man in his 40s suffered serious injuries in a terrifying skydiving accident.
The incident took place on Thursday morning near Jurien Bay in WA, about 220 kilometers north of Perth.
The skydiver was taken to Jurien Bay Health Center and then airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital.
A St John WA spokeswoman told NewsWire the RAC rescue helicopter landed in Perth at around 2pm.
“His injuries were believed to be serious, but not life-threatening,” he said.
St John WA received the distress call at around 10.30am, he added.
A worker for skydiving operator Skydive Jurien Bay told The West Australian newspaper that the man was in “very good spirits” after the accident.
Skydiving is an important part of Jurien Bay’s economy.
