It’s been a pretty extraordinary few months for Australian Olympic hero Jess Fox.

The kayak star illuminated the course of the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, first performing an impeccable race to finally take gold in the K1 canoe slalom, a medal that has eluded him in the last Olympic Games.

Just three days later, the 30-year-old Australian star would add to her record, winning her sixth Olympic medal (her third gold) by defending her C1 canoe slalom title.

“There were a lot of preparations for Paris and everything I did in the last three years was aimed at giving my best during those two weeks in July and August,” the now three-time gold medalist told the Daily Telegraphafter his epic exploits in Paris.

“Since then it has been a blur and whirlwind of celebration, opportunity, exhaustion and reflection on such an important moment in my career and life.”

It seems like it’s been a busy few months for Fox, but after the excitement of winning her third Olympic gold, the paddler is ready to take on a new step in her career.

The Australian is joining French beauty company L’Oreal Paris After a busy few months, Fox is now ready to embark on a new venture which she says will “take her out of her comfort zone”.

The kayaking superstar has teamed up with L’Oreal Paris and will hit the runway next Thursday at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Walk Your Worth Runway event.

The event will celebrate women’s empowerment and Fox admitted she was excited for the “unforgettable opportunity.”

“I’m excited and nervous at the same time,” Fox said.

“Walking down a catwalk, especially in heels, is definitely outside my comfort zone, but the iconic backdrop of the Sydney Opera House makes it an unforgettable opportunity. “I can’t wait to meet other amazing women and celebrate being a part of this movement.”

Fox, in fact, was born in Marseille, France, and moved to Penrith when he was just four years old.

Canoeing also runs in the family, as her father is former British canoeist Richard Fox. Her mother is Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi, who competed in two Summer Olympics and won bronze in the K1 kayak event at the Atalanta Games. of 1996.

“L’Oréal Paris is a brand that I have known and loved since I was a teenager and bought my first mascara and lipstick,” Fox added.

In recent weeks, Fox says his training scheme has been “more relaxed” and he was “enjoying rowing and going to the gym.”

‘It was everything I dreamed of and the reality of being home has left me a little overwhelmed with everyone’s love and support. What I expected to feel was a lack of motivation to train, which is completely normal considering what we just did at the Games.

“So for now training is a bit more relaxed and I enjoy rowing and going to the gym without the same intensity as before the Games.”
