Aussie cruiser labelled a ‘sick troll’ by fellow guests for innocent act while aboard: ‘You are endangering us all’

A traveler has been criticized for leaving a teapot on a cruise ship as the product is considered dangerous.

A cruise traveler thought she was doing her future guests a “good favor” by leaving her $8 teapot in the bottom drawer of her suite.

But I didn’t know that this common household item is prohibited on board cruise ships because it is considered a “fire hazard.”

Julie shared images on Facebook of the basic white kettle left unplugged in drawers, but was quickly hit with outrage by outraged guests who labeled her a “danger” and a “sick troll”.

‘Whoever is on this cruise leaving today. I left you my teapot, it only cost $8 and I didn’t bother taking it home. “It’s in the bottom drawer with some good stuff for you,” she captioned the post.

This sparked fury among other travelers who were surprised the item was not collected by security before boarding.

Items with an open flame or heating element are prohibited on cruise ships, except hair dryers and hair straighteners.

‘Teapots can cause a fire on a boat. Please don’t come on a cruise that I will be on,” one warned.

You’re lucky it made it through security and you’re lucky your cabin crew didn’t see it. You’re lucky it didn’t cause any problems using it. There is a danger of fire and fire is the worst thing that can happen on a cruise ship!’ added another.

What is not allowed on a cruise?

In addition to weapons, alcohol, drugs, and pets, items with open flames or heating elements are considered dangerous and are prohibited.

These include coffee makers, tea kettles, stoves, candles, incense, heating pads, electric blankets and clothes irons.

‘It is very irresponsible to bring a prohibited item on board and then leave it for others to continue using. “I suspect this may just be a post from a sick troll,” wrote another.

‘This will be confiscated when the room is cleaned. Someone at the port wasn’t doing their job if you kept that up.

Others were shocked by the amount of hate Julie received and called the act an “innocent mistake.”

‘WOW! Give the poor lady a break! “He obviously didn’t know he wasn’t allowed to bring a kettle on board and thought he was doing something nice for the upcoming guests in that room,” one of them said.

“If it wasn’t allowed, the cabin crew would have confiscated it before or during the cruise,” wrote another.

‘The dry cleaner empties the drawers and puts them in lost and found. But I like the thoughtful intention behind it,” added a third.

Other items such as candles, incense, heating pads, electric blankets, and clothes irons are also prohibited on cruise ships.
