“Over time, we outgrew the house, so several family members also bought houses there, until we had four vacation homes in the family,” Lynette told the publication.

“All the babies have been unofficially baptized at Patonga Creek as their welcome to the community.”

Lynette confirmed that she and Steve still have a holiday home nearby and have no plans to sell it.

Built just 100 meters from the beautiful Patonga Beach, the retreat has been very well maintained and still exudes its 1950s features.

Highlights include a classic front terrace with decorative iron cords and large windows.

Located on a large block with a large backyard, it is an ideal purchase for buyers looking for a fixer-upper.

Other features include polished floors and a “sun room” that can function as a third bedroom.

The couple made headlines in 2015 when they sold their Sydney home for a staggering $1.9 million.

It was a huge windfall after they snapped up the original south Sydney property on the site for a modest $56,000 in 1986.

Located in Alfords Point, 28km from the CBD, they built a two-storey, five-bedroom Federation-style house on the land.

The family home, which borders Mill Creek Reserve, features high ceilings, a versatile floor plan and multiple living areas, including an “elegant lounge, family, games and atrium.”

Waugh, 59, rose to prominence after making his first-class cricket debut with the New South Wales team in 1984.

The champion married Lynette in 1990 and the couple share three children: Rosie, 28, Austin, 24, and Lilli, 21.

The middle-order batsman went on to first captain Australia’s Test team in 1999.

Known as the Australians’ most successful captain, having scored 41 wins in 57 Tests, Steve hung up his pads for good in 2004.

With Lynette, the couple founded the Steve Waugh Foundation, a charity that supports children and families with rare diseases.
