Australian man quits job on the spot after winning $2.5 million Lotto prize
A Broadford man has admitted he will keep his feet on the ground and focus on preparing his children for the future after pocketing $2.5 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Victoria resident held one of eight winning Division 1 entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4395 on Saturday September 2, 2023. Each winning Division 1 entry pocketed $2.5 million.
The winning man took a little longer to discover his new fortune as the division one winning entry was not recorded, meaning officials at The Lott had to wait for him to check his ticket and manifests itself.
“Oh my God, this is amazing!” » exclaimed the winning man when an official from The Lott called to confirm his windfall.
“I tell you what, I’m doing exceptionally well now!”

“But I don’t know what to do! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
“We play most weeks and I’ve always followed the philosophy that you have to be there to win.
But you never really expect that to happen.
“I’m going to retire straight away, I think. I had a good professional life, but it allowed me to step back and enjoy the rest of my life in a more relaxed way.
“I will also pay off my child’s mortgages. It’s difficult right now and I look forward to helping them move forward and prepare for the future.
“I have no doubt that this victory will do incredible things for a lot of people.
‘Thank you very much for that.’
His Division One winning entry was purchased from Broadford Newsagency, 67 High Street, Broadford.
