Australian guy drinks beer as strong wind knocks down trees and topples chairs around him in Kalgoorlie
An Australian guy calmly enjoying a cold beer while ignoring the strong winds instantly became a folk hero.
The footage shows the man in hi-vis stoically holding a pint as tables and chairs fly into the outdoor area of the Rec Hotel in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia.
The air is thick with dust and debris, and across the street, a branch is torn from a tree and lands on a parked car.
But the happy-go-lucky pub-goer from the outback mining town continues on his way, content to narrow his eyes as chaos rages around him.
“There’s no 75 mph wind stopping this soldier from enjoying a bubbly and a durry,” said TikTok poster vzmith.

Commenters described the bizarre clip as “purely Australian”, declaring him a “living legend”.

Washington state was hit by storms around midnight on Tuesday, with the Goldfields area recording wind gusts of around 100 km/h.
Across the state, the SES was called 40 times to assist members of the public, while the Department of Fire and Emergency Services received more than 260 calls for help.
10,000 homes experienced power outages in Washington state on Thursday, with the majority in the Goldfields area.
“I’m from Kal, we lost power for 24 hours after this slight breeze,” one person noted in the comments of the TikTok video.
