An Australian actor made the bold decision to remove $10,000 worth of tattoos after facing rejection from Netflix.

Samuel Davies, who chronicled his journey on TikTok, explained how he landed the role of Colin Donnell’s lookalike in the American TV series Arrow, only to have it pulled by Netflix because his tattoos required daily coverage.

“I liked my tattoos and I wanted to keep them, but here’s the catch,” she told viewers.

“I decided to change careers and dedicate myself to acting and recently it was a Netflix series in which I had the job as a double for the main actor.”

“And then they decided they didn’t want to hire me because they didn’t want to cover up my tattoos every day, so I decided to start removing them and so far it’s been a two-year process,” Samuel revealed.

So far, Davies has undergone six laser removal sessions, which have cost between $500 and $600 each.

He explained that patients must wait between sessions.

“You have to wait eight weeks between each session for it to heal and appear again,” he explained.

“The longer you wait, the more your body starts to eat up the ink… you can see that some stains have taken longer,” he added.

The treatment also requires patients to avoid sunlight for four weeks and water for four to eight weeks.

Despite the setbacks, the actor, who appeared as an extra in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 film Elvis, remains determined to complete the removal over the next year.

He shared an update with his social media followers, revealing that he is still actively pursuing acting.

‘They are still acting out and it is much easier to cover up now that they are fading so much. “I’ve been in a couple of movies and a few TV series,” she said.
