An avid fan from Essendon has seen his dream come true after his hilarious interview with Auskick led him to a training session with his heroes.
Archie Stockdale appeared on 7AFL football coverage over the weekend after being nominated for the 2022 AFL Auskicker of the Year award.
And the young Bombers fan captured the hearts of the nation after detailing how he would spend the $5,000 prize on a one-on-one training session with his favorite player, Archie Perkins.

Essendon invited the young Bombers fan to The Hanger for a visit to boost team morale
“I’ll probably end up meeting him if I win $5,000,” young Archie told host Hamish McLachlan.
‘I’ll probably do a one-on-one training session, I might ask for that. Maybe go to some AFL games too.
McLachlan replied: ‘Let me try to get you to meet Archie Perkins without spending any money. Should he do that?
“If it’s not too much trouble, yes please,” Archie said.
The young Auskicker didn’t have to wait long for a training session with his namesake, heading to Tullamarine on Wednesday for a kick.
Essendon is 2-8 on the season with mounting pressure on under fire boss Ben Rutten
Archie, who is a distant relative of Essendon’s 1923 Coleman medalist Greg Stockdale, wore his full Bombers gear and chatted with Perkins and power forward Peter Wright.
He also had the honor of leading the team on their warm-up lap.
Archie’s visit would surely have lifted spirits at The Hanger, with Ben Rutten’s team enduring a dismal run of results this season.
Last year’s preliminary finalists are 2-8 for the season and Richmond handily defeated them during their Dreamtime clash in the G on Saturday.
