Date:

The aunt of a missing woman whose son was killed in an apparent murder-suicide by her former partner called the man a ‘beast’, saying she was ‘devastated’.

Criste Wohlgemuth attacked George Scott III, son of late legendary Boston Red Sox player George Scott, who was found dead at his home in Massachusetts on Friday morning along with his son, Dante, in a suspected murder-suicide.

In a post shared on Facebook, Wohlgemuth said: “Lisa Hazard will not be returning as we focus on the beast that stole her life and now her son’s life.”

‘Truth be told b****** killed my beautiful niece and now her beautiful son.

“I’m just devastated. I want the police to do the job they should be doing from day one.

Scott, 53, was found dead shortly after 8 a.m. at his home in New Bedford, Massachusetts, when police received a request for a wellness check.

They arrived at the bodies of 8-year-old Scott and Dante, lying dead on the ground.

Scott III is the son of the late Boston Red Sox player George Scott, who hit 271 homers during a 14-year career at the majors.

Young Scott had also tried his hand at becoming a professional baseball player, going through various minor league teams in the 1990s.

The 8-year-old boy is the son of Lisa Hazard, a woman who disappeared in March 2019.

A spokesperson for the Bristol County District Attorney said Scott was considered a person of interest in her disappearance.

“This is obviously a tragic situation that could be a development in the case, but we have to look at the evidence in this case,” Quinn said, referring to both cases.

Just two weeks earlier, the district attorney’s office had executed a search warrant at the same home.

According to a Facebook page hoping to find Hazard, she was last seen after leaving her mother’s home in Fall River on March 5, 2019.

“This group was created in the hope that it will provide more information about Lisa and bring her home. It’s very different from her not reaching out to her family, especially her son who is her whole world,’ the page said.

Family members said in 2019 that Hazard was recovering from drug addiction but became erratic.

“She started missing important dates, like my mom’s birthday or her son’s birthday or Mother’s Day, and that’s really not characteristic of Lisa because she’s always been devoted to family, especially his son,” his brother Steven told NBC 10 last October.

The man found dead with his 8-year-old son was not mentioned in the story.

Scott III was last heard from in 2021, when he presented an NFT collection featuring his Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer father.

He had also started a Twitter page for a podcast called Boomer’s Base, referencing his late father’s nickname. No episodes appear to have been released.
