Augsburg Panthers remain in the DEL

The Augsburg Panthers can also play in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) next season.

The EC Bad Nauheim won the semifinals of the DEL2 playoffs 8:2 (2:2, 2:0, 4:0) against the Kassel Huskies and won the series 4:2.

With the Huskies, the last team in the DEL2 playoffs that had met the economic requirements for promotion failed. In terms of sport, the title would have been necessary.

As a result, the Augsburg Panthers, as penultimate in the DEL, can plan another season in the top league after weeks of uncertainty. With the Krefeld Penguins in the semi-finals and the Dresdner Eislöwen in the quarter-finals, the other two candidates for promotion were already eliminated.

The final for the title in the DEL2 is contested by Bad Nauheim and the Ravensburg Towerstars.
