The 40-year-old actress opened up about being married to a writer and director while appearing on The Howard Stern Show about three months ago.
On the September 2024 radio show, he talked about how to maintain friendships and relationships in your line of work.
When Stern suggested that being married to a filmmaker instead of an actor was “better for her,” the Parks and Recreation alum agreed.
He also talked about how “happy” he is overall, even though Stern resists.

“I don’t know how farce this is, but it sounds like you’re not that happy,” he told her.
‘I really don’t know. I can’t tell you what’s real or not. That’s my problem.’
When Stern asked her if she had friends and “I doubted they were really your friends,” she responded, “No, I’m a pretty selective friend.”
‘A lot of my friends are friends that I’ve had since I was, you know, in high school or whatever. I mean, I have new friends too, but I’m not going out and trying to make friends.
To that, he then asked her what she was “doubting was real” and she replied that it was her “feelings.”
The White Lotus star explained how being an actress means she’s good at “manipulating her feelings,” a trait Stern suggested is “dangerous.”
He talked about confusing feelings and asked if she felt competitive dating someone else in the same career.
She said she “never really dated an actor, nor was she with an actor for a long time or anything like that.”

Baena was found dead by an assistant on Friday at his Los Angeles home around 10:30am, DailyMail.com can confirm.
The Life After Beth director was pronounced dead at the scene.
The family said Deadline They are devastated by the news and ask for privacy at this time.

Baena dedicated himself to film after graduating in film from New York University and moving to Los Angeles to launch his career.
He worked in low-level positions for big name directors, including Robert Zemeckis and David O. Russell, while finding his place in the industry. He worked as a production assistant for Zemeckis and as an editing assistant for Russell.
He is best known for directing Life After Beth, his directorial debut and a film starring Plaza, and The Little Hours.

Baena secretly married The White Lotus star in May 2021, a decade after they met in 2011, largely keeping their relationship out of the spotlight.

For his television work, he directed and executive produced the Showtime series Cinema Toast. He co-led the product with his wife.

Baena is survived by his wife, his mother Barbra Stern, his stepfather Roger Stern, his stepmother Michele Baena, his brother Brad Baena, and his stepsiblings Bianca Gabay and Jed Fluxman.
