The legal team of Cristiano Ronaldo’s prosecutor has demanded that the football icon and his agent Jorge Mendes testify about the payment of hush money.

Former model Kathryn Mayorga claims she was “mentally retarded” when she accepted $ 375,000 as part of an amicable settlement with Ronaldo and his representatives after allegations that he raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Mayorga’s lawyers have repeatedly requested that the Juventus player and his Portuguese ‘super agent’ Jorge Mendes be impeached via zoom, according to new legal documents seen by The sun

Ronaldo, from Portugal, vigorously denies any wrongdoing against him.

Mayorga’s attorney Ross Moynihan, according to the documents, listed ten people he wanted to question in March and April.

But Ronaldo’s Las Vegas attorney – Kendelee Works – turned down the request for her client to be questioned, saying it would be “ totally irrelevant to this stage of the proceedings, ” The Sun reported.

Lawyers for both parties had a phone call on March 30, during which they discussed that Ronaldo was being questioned, which was again denied, according to the tabloid.

According to the paper, sources close to Ronaldo’s team said there were no “formal requests” for impeachment by representatives of the US Mayorga.

The football superstar’s lawyers have now filed a motion for a protection order for confidential documents related to the case.

These documents allegedly contain the nondisclosure agreement between the American and the Portuguese that was signed in 2010 after Mayorga claimed she had been raped by Ronaldo at Palms Casino a year earlier.

Mayorga signed the NDA as part of an amicable settlement with Ronaldo, but her attorneys later claimed she had been considered “ incompetent ” by a psychiatrist when she reached the legal settlement.

Her lawyers previously claimed the American was manipulated and pressured by Ronaldo’s team to sign the nondisclosure agreement, and now they are withholding permission to keep essential documents in the case secret.

Ronaldo’s lawyers claim this forced them to file the motion for the protection order on the confidential documents.

The athlete’s attorneys stated that this is “curious, as the defendant has specifically offered to agree that the plaintiff’s medical records, including mental health history, are considered confidential.”

“The prosecution’s file contains multiple references to her concerns about confidentiality and the feeling that her counsel was promoting his own career beyond her interests.”

In 2010, Mayorga accepted $ 375,000 in a nondisclosure agreement, but she has now filed a new claim in excess of $ 210,000 saying she was mentally unfit when she reached the initial settlement.

But in the new motion, Ronaldo’s team has produced two exhibits, claiming to show that the former model had previously subscribed to Xanax for anxiety and panic attacks.

They also released a redacted handwritten letter from Mayorga, written in January 2019, stating that she was hated by “ millions of people ” and wished to remain anonymous, but that her lawyer had spoken to the press.

‘I am angry that my lawyers (attorneys) spoke in the media … I was angry when I heard from the media, not him … I think he is promoting his career, not my case – victims’ names are Protected for a reason – she gets: ‘You slut, whore, etc’ – millions of people hate me, ‘she wrote in the letter, according to The Sun.

To prove Mayorga was “ mentally retarded ” when she reached the out-of-court settlement, her attorneys compiled a list of 16 medical providers, psychiatric experts, and psychological counselors to support them.

The MailOnline has requested comments from representatives of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes.

The model-turned teacher claimed the football star raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009 after the couple met on a night out, then agreed to go back to his hotel room.

In 2019, the Juventus star was told he will not be charged after police failed to find enough evidence to prosecute.

In July 2019, Clark County District Attorney’s Office announced that it would not prosecute the alleged attack, which was reported to police on June 13, 2009.

They said officers visiting the hotel on that day could not conduct a “meaningful investigation” because the woman refused to identify an attacker and did not want to say where she had been attacked.

Without knowing the identity of the perpetrator or the location of the crime, detectives were unable to search for and seize essential forensic evidence, the prosecutors said.

In addition, video evidence was lost showing the interactions between the victim and the perpetrator before and after the alleged crime. The criminal investigation is closed. ‘

But Mayorga is pursuing a civil suit that aims to overturn a nondisclosure agreement she signed with the athlete in 2010.

She claims his legal team exploited her fragile mental state to get her to sign the document.

In court documents filed in 2019, Ronaldo’s legal team first acknowledged that Mayorga was receiving $ 375,000 when she first charged the police with “ maintaining the confidentiality of their dispute. ”

However, they note that the payment does not acknowledge debt in any way, and that, in fact, ‘the [agreement] made it clear that Mr. Ronaldo disputed [Mayorga’s] allegations and did not admit in any way that she was injured.

On the contrary, the [agreement] stated in no uncertain terms that Mr. Ronaldo agreed to pay [Mayorga] an amount of money to maintain the confidentiality of their dispute. ‘

Ronaldo’s lawyers allege that Nevada’s previous agreement and statue of restrictions void Mayorga’s lawsuit.

They also say she is not yet to present concrete evidence that she “ lacked mental ability ” when she signed the NDA.

In 2018, Ronaldo said: ‘I firmly deny the allegations made against me. Rape is a heinous crime that goes against everything I am and what I believe in. ‘

His mother Dolores stayed with Ronaldo throughout the months-long investigation and said in February that she had “faith in my son when it comes to what happened.”

The mother of four also hit out at Ronaldo’s US prosecutor, saying she “didn’t go to his hotel room to play cards.”

Ronaldo’s girlfriend, 26-year-old Spanish model Georgina Rodriguez, has also assisted him on the claims.

Police were unable to conduct a “meaningful investigation” at the time because Ms. Mayorga refused to say who attacked her or where it took place, US prosecutors said.

As a result, detectives were “unable to search and seize essential forensic evidence,” and a video showing Ronaldo and Mayorga together was lost, she added.

Mayorga contacted police in August 2018 to request that the case be reopened, naming Ronaldo as the alleged attacker.

Her lawyers have said she was inspired to speak out and make her claim public by the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment.

Although no charges were filed, she filed a civil suit to overturn the nondisclosure agreement.

Ronaldo left Spain’s Real Madrid in 2018 after nine seasons with the club and joined Italian champions Juventus.

While in Spain, he became Real Madrid’s highest ever goalscorer, scoring 451 times after coming over from Manchester United for a then-world record of £ 80 million in 2009.

He helped Real win three consecutive Champions League titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Ronaldo is also Portugal’s most limits player, with 173 appearances and record scorer with 103. He reportedly made $ 105 million in 2019 and was # 4 on the 2020 Forbes Celebrity 100.
