The person who presented the award was forced to apologize to those in attendance and tried to defuse the situation.
The incident was recorded on video and shared with X, where it has been viewed more than 500,000 times.

In the clip you can hear the mother shouting at the person handing out the awards but it is not clear what she is saying.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for what we are seeing now,” the school employee says before the women shout even more.
“I’ll talk to you,” he says in an attempt to calm her down. “Mom, we can see him again.”
The mother then yells “let’s go” to her son and he is seen following her out of the assembly hall.
The school official then apologizes again to the crowd for the disturbance caused.
It is unclear at which school the incident occurred or why the boy did not receive the award.
