The Oakland A’s have released renderings of their potential new $1.5 billion stadium in Las Vegas after the franchise secured a deal for the site last week.
It was announced last Monday that the team had agreed with Bally’s and Gaming & Leisure Properties to build a potential 30,000 seat stadium on the site of the Tropicana Hotel along the Las Vegas Strip.
Now the Athletics has released a preview of what their new home could look like, showing a stadium with views of the Las Vegas skyline and right next to the MGM Grand hotel.

Regardless of the finer details of the new stadium, the A’s are desperate to get more fans into the seats.

The team previously reached an agreement to build a stadium across Interstate 15
Their average home attendance of 8,695 this season is nearly 3,600 fewer fans per game than any other team.
While the A’s appear to have a stadium deal in place, however, a potential move to Sin City has yet to be cemented.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said Thursday that a vote on their potential relocation to Las Vegas could take place when the owners meet in New York next month.
The A’s previously signed an agreement to build a stadium also on Tropicana Avenue but across Interstate 15 which runs along the Strip.
They were to petition the Legislature for $500 million in public funds for the 49-acre site which would have included much more than a stadium.
The new deal, for which the team will seek nearly $400 million in public support, is a scaled-down proposal, but the location is a closer walk for fans staying at hotels on the south end of the Strip.

The Tropicana has been a historic staple of the famous Las Vegas Strip since the 1960s
Like most hotels and casinos in Vegas, the Tropicana offers a wide range of games to play.
The team was in negotiations with the city of Oakland to build a stadium on the waterfront, but focused entirely on Las Vegas last month.
A’s exclusive trading rights agreement with the Port of Oakland for the Howard Terminal site expired last Friday, allowing the port to negotiate with other parties interested in using the downtown site.
Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao released a statement after the Nevada Athletics purchase of land, saying she was disappointed the team did not negotiate with the city as ” true partner”.
A president Dave Kaval said he hopes to dedicate a new baseball diamond next year and open the site in time for the 2027 season.
The A’s have a lease at Oakland Coliseum through 2024, and they could play the 2025 and 26 seasons at the Las Vegas Ballpark, home of affiliate Triple-A Aviators.
