At least six people have been killed and several injured after a gunman opened fire at a church in Germany.
Police are chasing gunmen in the northern German city following the shooting ‘at a center for Jehovah’s Witnesses’ in Hamburg.
Armed police were on the scene along with paramedics and other emergency services.
Hamburg police said: ‘According to initial findings, a shot was fired in a church on Deelböge street in the GroßBorstel district.
‘Several people were seriously injured, some fatally. We are on site with a large contingent of forces.

Police are chasing the gunmen in the northern German city following the shooting.

Police added: ‘Several people were seriously injured, some fatally. We are on site with a large contingent of forces’

Police said on Twitter that a large operation was underway in the city’s Alsterdorf district.
“So far there is no reliable information on the motive for the crime.”

The area is a few miles north of the city center of Hamburg, which is the second largest city in Germany.
