At least one person shot at Joel Osteen’s Houston Lakewood Church as police rush to scene of ‘active shooter’

At least one person was shot at a megachurch in Texas.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a possible shooting at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, shortly after 2 p.m.

Witnesses said the shooter opened fire in the church lobby moments after a Spanish-language church service began.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said deputies shot a possible suspect.

No injuries have been reported.

Witness Paula Laverde said: “So there was a shot first and then there was a series of shots and then we started running and then there were several series of shots, I can’t really count them, it was at least five times that he shot multiple times.
