A Missouri teacher is accused of exchanging drugs and alcohol for sex with students, including one she allegedly slept with on a dirt road.
Carissa Smith, 31, was arrested Tuesday on charges of rape, sodomy, patronizing prostitution, sex trafficking of a child, hindering prosecution and sexual contact and misconduct with a student.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department said she would have sex with them at her residence and other locations, such as dirt roads or on the side of the road.
Smith would offer students money, marijuana and alcohol in exchange for sex or for her to perform oral sex, according to court documents.
One victim said he had his first sexual interaction with Smith while a student at Dixon Middle School.
He said they met when she was substituting for another teacher and the boy gave her Snapchat.
“Smith began sending them pictures of her breasts and buttocks, along with her naked in the shower,” according to court documents.
After propositioning the student for sex and offering him money, she allegedly told him to keep it a secret.

“(The victim) stated that Mrs. Smith told them not to talk about it or they would get in trouble. Ms. Smith stated, “Do you know you can’t talk to anyone about this?”, according to court documents.
One victim claimed that Smith forced him to ejaculate inside her during a sexual encounter.
The boy said he told her it was ‘f*****d up’ and she responded by offering him more money.
In another incident, the victim said he smoked marijuana with Smith and her friend Lacey Beam, a former school nurse for the Dixon School District.
Eventually, Smith dropped Beam off at her home and took the boy to McDonald’s because her husband was home with their children, according to court documents.
Smith worked as a substitute teacher at Dixon Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year. She then worked as a paraprofessional at the high school for the 2023-2024 school year.
She was hired as a long-term substitute teacher at the high school on July 22, but resigned on August 30.
Smith was arrested on eight counts of statutory rape, one count of statutory sodomy, three counts of sexual contact with a student, two counts of sexual misconduct with a student, one count of patronizing prostitution, two counts of sex trafficking of a child and two cases of sex trafficking of a child. charges of hindering prosecution.

She is being held on a $250,000 bond and her next court hearing is scheduled for November 20.
The Dixon R-1 School District released a statement KY3 After the news of her arrest, it emerged that they could not share information about the assaults due to the investigation.
“Earlier this school year, the district received a report of possible misconduct by Ms. Smith toward at least one student in the district. This report has been shared with the authorities responsible for investigating these types of concerns,” the district said.
“This is deeply disturbing and disturbing information for everyone in our school community… The first and foremost mission of our school district at all times is to provide our students with the best possible education in a safe environment.”
Elsewhere in Missouri, a math teacher who admitted to having sex with a student at school while others acted as “lookouts” got a favorable deal from prosecutors.
Hailey Clifton-Carmack, 26, previously pleaded guilty to sexual contact with a student in exchange for dropping the other charges, including statutory rape, child abuse and child endangerment.
The teacher was arrested after police were alerted to Clifton-Carmack’s relationship with the student after a Laquey High School classmate came forward and showed photos of the teen’s scratches.
She was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to complete a sex offender treatment program.
However, the judge said he will receive updates on her progress within 90 days, and if she fares well, Clifton-Carmack could have her sentence suspended and downgraded to probation.
