Aston Villa has announced the departure of Manchester United-bound goalkeeper Tom Heaton along with defenders Ahmed Elmohamady and Neil Taylor on free transfers.
Villa confirmed on their official website that all three players will be leaving when their contracts expire this summer.
Sportsmail reported earlier this month that Manchester United were in talks with Heaton about a free transfer, with the Red Devils wanting the 35-year-old as an experienced backup to Dean Henderson and David de Gea.

United has not offered a new contract to Lee Grant, third-choice, but may find a coaching role for the popular 38-year-old, while Sergio Romero will also leave this summer.
Heaton spent eight years at Old Trafford until 2010 without having played a first-team appearance for the club, but is now expected to return after Villa confirmed his release.
The 35-year-old joined Villa on their return to the top flight in August 2019 and started their first 20 Premier League appearances before his 2019/20 season was cut short due to a knee ligament injury.

“The popular trio, which no longer have a contract with Villa Park this summer, will continue with the very best wishes from everyone at the club,” said the club from Midlands.
“Ahmed, Neil and Tom are leaving the club after having been greatly admired, both in the dressing room and among the supporters, and have been fantastic servants on and off the field.”
Right-wing player Elmohamady has played 129 times for Villa in all competitions since coming over from Hull in the summer of 2017, while right-back Taylor has played 103 times after moving from Swansea earlier that year.
