The club’s official account tweeted: ‘Our captain, Jack Grealish, returned to first-team training at Bodymoor Heath on Monday,’ alongside a video showing him back on the grass with his teammates.
The injury also kept him out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad after he forced his way into the Three Lions squad in the previous three international breaks.
His absence from the squad was to ensure he is back in time for the return of club action, and he is expected to be fit to play against Fulham on Sunday.

The mercurial midfielder had a wonderful season ahead of the setback after helping Villa to the top half.
The Boyhood Villa fan has scored 18 goals in 22 Premier League games this season, already the best return of his career.
Despite his current absence, he is expected to make the 23-man squad of Three Lions for the European Championship in the summer.
