HANGZHOU, China – Mark Ashley Fajardo was beaten by China’s Wang Xiangyang in another early exit for Philippine boxers at the 19th Asian Games.
Cheered on by the hometown crowd, Wang showed he is the better fighter in the ring, going 5-0 to advance to the men’s round of 16 (63.5kg) at the Hangzhou Gymnasium here.
Fajardo’s lopsided defeat was a far cry from the first-round knockout inflicted by Cebuano in his opening match against Bhutan’s Wangdi Dorji.
