Iqbal, who suffered the injury in the second inning of Bangladesh tickets, will probably be out of action for at least six weeks.

"We took him to the hospital only because it was a serious injury, and not just a mere bruise," said Minajul Abedin, Bangladesh's chief executive, according to the report.

"Obviously I had some pain and it would not have been wise to continue hitting."

Iqbal was hit on his left wrist while attempting a pull against Suranga Lakmal in the second and was taken to the hospital, where the scans revealed a crack on the outside of his index finger.

In regards to the match, Bangladesh is in a comfortable position after firing four batters from Sri Lanka at the start of their 262 chase.
