A thrifty mom shared her handy Subway hack that makes a delicious meal for two for just $4.50 as the cost of living continues to rise.
The woman, from regional New South Wales, bought a $3.50 banana bowl of meatballs from Subway and combined it with some pasta cooked from a $1 packet she bought at the supermarket.
She said a delicious meal could be enough to feed two adults or one parent and two small children.
The mom said the meal is perfect for those on a budget who don’t have the time or energy to cook a cheap lunch or dinner from scratch.

The Subway mozza bowls contain six meatballs in marinara sauce topped with melted mozzarella cheese.
Several members of the group said they loved the meatball pans and use them to make their own inexpensive dishes.
“I add spinach to my salad because I love warm salads, so it’s just shredded on top of the salad.” I also ask for garlic aioli to be placed on top and they usually do that. “It’s delicious,” said one of the women.
‘I get them for lunch sometimes,’ replied another, ‘they are quite filling.
