When Victoria Beckham turned 30, her husband David’s gift was typically lavish: an oval-cut pink diamond ring, worth £1 million.

For her 40th birthday, she is said to have spent £50,000 on a diamond bracelet.

So, as her 50th birthday celebration approaches, you would have forgiven Posh for expecting an opulent addition to her jewelry collection.

Instead, the former Spice Girl, who on Valentine’s Day this year broke her foot after falling at the gym, received a rather different gift from her husband of 24 years.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Victoria revealed that former England captain David had gifted her a £300 KneeRover ‘mobility bike’, designed to make sure she keeps pressure on her right leg, giving her the best chance of being ready. for April 18, when she plans to host a big birthday party.

Friends of the former Spice Girl say she is delighted with the gift that David gave her shortly after her arrival in Miami, where they are spending the Easter holidays.

A giddy Victoria wasted no time sharing a video of David, 48, setting up the scooter with his 32 million Instagram followers.

“It’s okay, David bought me a bike to try to help me maintain my foot, which is taking a long time to heal,” he said. “So he bought me this little bike with a basket.”

‘Not just any bike!’ David interrupted and added, “It’s called KneeRover.”

“The accessories are endless,” Victoria said. “Think about how much wine fits in this basket.”

In another snap, where she modeled the vehicle while sporting a t-shirt, leggings, a sneaker and her injury boot, she wrote: “Best gift my husband bought me!!!”

I’m told the Beckham clan found this purchase very amusing. Showing off her wicked sense of humour, Victoria has compared herself to Benidorm character Madge Harvey, an elderly ITV sitcom star who gets around on a scooter.

Despite the hilarity, David, as practical as ever, bought the gift seriously.

Victoria’s injury in the gym at her west London home on Valentine’s Day was described by her husband shortly afterwards as a “clean break”.

Since then, the determined Victoria has refused to stop going to the gym or reduce her workload.

In recent weeks she has been seen limping to and from fashion shows and dinners with crutches and wearing one shoe (sometimes a high heel!) and the other in a boot.

While her friends say she is taking her injury “very calmly,” they also say she hopes to look her best when she turns 50 and is now willing to do whatever it takes to make it to her celebrations, which so far are wrapped in a veil. secretly, with both feet in her characteristic high heels.

“Victoria loves to dress up for big occasions, none more so than her birthday, and that means wearing a nice pair of shoes,” said a friend.

“The big day isn’t far away and Victoria has been feeling very frustrated because her foot is taking a while to heal,” says a friend of the star.

‘He has his crutches, he has seen them used a lot but they are very tiring. Then David had an idea and he decided to buy him a scooter so he could get around more easily.

‘She has been commenting that she won’t heal but she won’t rest. You can imagine that David has been telling her to back off and give him a break, but she won’t. So she took matters into her own hands and decided to take a dip on the scooter. ‘She obviously thinks it’s very funny, but she also wants Victoria’s foot to get better.’

Friends described David as “sweetheart” for purchasing the KneeRover and added that Victoria has been doing rigorous exercises to help her foot heal.

After all, her number 50 isn’t the only reason Victoria wants to stay in shape.

On July 4, she and David will celebrate 25 years of marriage and there will be numerous celebrations for which the former singer will want to dress up.

As their recent social media posts show, the couple, who have endured their fair share of ups and downs in their marriage, are happier than ever. The secret? Make each other laugh, says a friend.

‘Can you imagine David buying Victoria a gift like a mobility scooter six or seven years ago and then telling the world about it? No. Victoria is very excited about what’s coming in 2024,” says one.

Much more so, I’m told, if she can put on her stilettos again.
