Real Betis star Guido Rodriguez has toned down Arsenal’s reported interest by claiming he is ‘very happy’ in Seville.
Sports world reported earlier this week that the defensive midfielder is a summer target for Mikel Arteta, who has’ been keeping a close eye on the Argentinian.
The Spanish news outlet suggested that Betis would be willing to sell Rodriguez, which has a £ 68 million release clause, for the right price due to the financial uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic.

However, Rodriguez has now revealed that he plans to stay in the south of Spain.
When asked about the Gunners’ potential interest, the 26-year-old recalled Sports stadium: ‘I saw it because friends from Argentina asked me, but I told them I knew the same as they did.
‘I’m the protagonist because I’m in the news, but today I don’t know more or less than you who saw it.
‘I am very happy [at Betis], I arrived and there was one or two months with a strange situation for everyone with the issue of incarceration, but the truth is that I am very happy in Seville, with the city, the weather, at the club … very happy.

Rodriguez joined Betis of Mexican club Club America in January 2020 for £ 2.7 million after helping them win the title in 2019.
After being named Mexican Player of the Year in his last season with Club America, Rodriguez continued his good form in Spain.
Rodriguez plays in the defensive role in midfield and has been an almost ever-present figure in the Betis squad since his arrival two years ago.
