Arsenal have been dealt a blow ahead of the new season, with Mikel Arteta admitting that Thomas Partey’s injury against Chelsea ‘doesn’t look good’.
Midfielder Partey suffered an ankle injury in the first half against Sunday’s 2-1 friendly loss to the Blues after a clash with Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
He received treatment on the pitch for some time and was replaced by Granit Xhaka.

After the game, Arteta told reporters, “I just had a talk with the doctor. He will have a scan tomorrow.
“It doesn’t look good at the moment because he was in pain and couldn’t go on.”
Arsenal will play a final friendly against North London rivals Tottenham on August 8 before their Premier League campaign kicks off against newly promoted Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium.
