- Mesut Ozil could play his first game this season against Tottenham on Sunday

- He has been linked with a late move away but Unai Emery has ruled that out
Mesut Ozil is back training with his Arsenal team-mates, with manager Unai Emery having said the German will be in contention to face Tottenham this weekend.
The transfer window in Europe does not shut until September 2 and the 30-year-old World Cup winner had been linked with an eleventh-hour move away.
Emery has ruled that out, and Ozil could now be brought into the squad for Sunday’s north London derby after having not made an appearance this season.

The German hasn’t played at all so far this season amid concerns over his security
‘This week he’s training well,’ Emery said. ‘He is progressing physically and training with normal work for us. He’s going to be closer to us and will be available for Sunday I think.
‘We’ve finished our transfer window and in Europe it’s going to finish on Monday. We cannot sign another player but we have some players who have the possibility to leave (Nacho Monreal).
‘The club is working and some players know their situation. We are not speaking about the possibility he (Ozil) could leave.’
It has been a testing summer for Ozil off the pitch, with security concerns marring his preparation for the new season, after he and team-mate Sead Kolasinac were caught up in a botched mugging.
He was also unavailable for the clash with Burnley due to illness.
