Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum was placed on a heart monitor after collapsing during the League Cup final last weekend, but early test results indicated there were no obvious cardiac causes.
Maanum fell to the ground in the 95th minute and required oxygen during a nine-minute stoppage at Molineux on Sunday.
The midfielder was in a stable condition and speaking after being stretchered off and has since been closely monitored by Arsenal.
The Gunners have now confirmed that Maanum has undergone extensive testing and the results show no obvious cardiac causes behind his collapse.
However, she has been fitted with a monitoring device to record her cardiac function and will continue to be monitored before a decision is made on her return to play.

In a statement, Arsenal also added that he had been fitted with a heart monitor.

An Arsenal statement read: “Following the incident during the FA Women’s Continental League Cup final on Sunday, which resulted in Frida Maanum being substituted at the end of normal time, she underwent extensive testing and received support from our medical team at Arsenal.
‘The test results have been reviewed by two leading cardiologists and no obvious cardiac causes have so far been found in these extensive investigations.
‘Frida was subsequently fitted with a monitoring device to record her cardiac function and will now undergo a progressive return to training protocol.

‘Once Frida has been monitored for a full one-week period, her normal training will be reviewed and monitored closely, before a decision is made regarding her return to play.
“Due to her continued progress and evaluation at Arsenal, Frida will not join the Norway squad for the upcoming Euro qualifiers against Finland and the Netherlands.”
