Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus will be sidelined after suffering a serious knee injury in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
The Brazilian had to be stretchered off after a collision with Bruno Fernandes towards the end of the first half of the Gunners’ third round elimination.
Jesús will undergo further tests on Tuesday to determine the severity of the injury, but there are already fears that he has suffered damage to the cartilage or ligament in his knee.
He will likely miss the rest of the season due to another injury suffered by Mikel Arteta, who is no longer counting on talisman Bukayo Saka.
“Big concern, that’s my feeling,” Arteta said when asked about the striker’s injury after Sunday’s defeat at the Emirates.
‘He had to leave on a stretcher, in a lot of pain, touching his knee. It doesn’t look good. I think it is the other one (and not the knee that was injured in the 2022 World Cup).

“But the worrying factor is more the feeling he had when he had to retire and the pain he felt.”
Jesus’ injury leaves Arsenal with just one fit striker, and Kai Havertz will continue to play a prominent role in the team.
