As revealed by Sports post, Brighton will try to fend off any interest in White by put a £50 million price tag at the 23-year-old.

The Gunners are looking to refresh their defense with David Luiz leaving the club on a free transfer, while Hector Bellerin could also leave this summer.

However, they face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Seagulls rejected a £25million offer from Leeds last summer, but a bid in the region of £50million could be too good to turn down.

In a recent interview, Brighton chief executive Paul Barber admitted: “We know some of our best players won’t be with us forever and if the right offer comes along and they want to leave, then they can go.”

White appeared in all competitions for Graham Potter’s side in 39 appearances last season, helping them to keep 12 clean sheets in the Premier League.

His form saw him called up to Gareth Southgate’s 33-man European Championship squad before the Three Lions boss confirmed he would replace the injured Alexander-Arnold in his last 26-man match on Monday.

The centre-back has been impressive in England’s warm-up matches against Austria and Romania, and could force his way back to basics if Harry Maguire is not fit for the Euro opener against Croatia.

White faces competition from Conor Coady and Tyrone Mings to merge John Stones into a back-four or back-five.
