Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is ‘dazzling summer move for Real Betis star Nabil Fekir’, a year after considering him to replace Dani Ceballos before the Real Madrid midfielder returned for the second loan term.
- Nabil Fekir has scored three goals and provided six assists for Real Betis this season
- Mundo Deportivo has claimed that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to sign him
- They claim that Arteta considered him last summer before re-hiring Dani Ceballos
- French international Fekir’s contract with LaLiga side Betis will run until 2023
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has reportedly been investigating the contracting of Real Betis star Nabil Fekir in Spain.
The 27-year-old Frenchman scored three goals and took six assists in 25 LaLiga appearances in Manuel Pellegrini’s bid to qualify for Europe this season.
But Sports world claim Gunners boss Arteta has decided to take steps this summer to try to sign the Frenchman, reporting that the Spaniard has already inquired about his situation with the Seville-based club.

The report adds that Arteta considered a move for Fekir last summer in case Arsenal’s attempts to re-sign midfielder Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid failed.
The same outlet claims that the North London side’s interest in Fekir cooled when the 24-year-old Spain international’s return for a second loan in September was confirmed after helping the Gunners win last season’s FA Cup.
Mundo Deportivo adds, however, that there are currently no indications as to what Arsenal would be willing to pay for the France international, who has a contract with the Estadio Benito Villamarin until 2023.

Fekir almost moved to England in 2018, but a deal to get from Lyon to Liverpool fell through
Should Arteta go for Fekir this summer, it would give the player a chance to move to the Premier League three years after coming tantalizingly close to moving to England.
He was due to complete a £ 53 million move to Liverpool in 2018, but negotiations did not lead to an agreement and he ended up staying with former club Lyon for another season before sealing a £ 19 million move to Spain.
Fekir – who reportedly has a £ 79 million release clause in his Betis deal – has just signed a new agency, Promoesport, which will also look after the interests of Eric Bailly and Manchester United’s Wolves ace Adama Traore.
The World Cup winner – who has collected 25 caps for his country – was placed outside France’s final roster for their three World Cup qualifiers during the current international break.
The 27-year-old has not been called up for France’s last series of international matches
