The north London derby lived up to its reputation as the top-flight’s most heated rivalry as the two sets of players were separated throughout the first half.

The first half of the clash between Arsenal and Tottenham saw the most yellow cards in the first half of a Premier League match in history.

One of them came when Jurrien Timber appeared to step over the ball while challenging Pedro Porro.

Replays showed there was little difference and the referee was quick to show Timber a yellow card.

And the referee had to deal with more things, as the pushing and elbowing began, and almost everyone got involved.

It all started when Vicario confronted Timber, who responded by grabbing the Tottenham man’s shirt and staring him down.

Fortunately, no player overstepped the mark in the fight and the VAR deemed that no further action was necessary.

The first half was uneventful, except for Gabriel Martinelli missing his best chance when he received a pass from the left.
