Arsenal and Chelsea ‘learn asking price for Swedish star Viktor Gyokeres’ as Sporting Lisbon prepare to ‘cash in’ on the 37-goal forward this summer

Sporting Lisbon have reportedly set a price for star striker Viktor Gyokeres as the Sweden international attracts interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

Premier League teams have followed Gyokeres after the former Coventry City striker’s impressive debut season in Portugal.

Gyokeres has scored 36 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions for Sporting since his £20million move from the Sky Blues last summer.

This includes 22 goals and nine assists in 24 league games, with Sporting maintaining a one-point lead over rivals Benfica at the top of the table.

The 25-year-old added to his tally by scoring for Sweden against Portugal in a friendly during the international break.

Gyokeres is a reported target for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

According to the MirrorSporting have set an asking price of £68.5m to sell the highly sought-after striker this summer.

The report claims that the Portuguese league leaders are expected to cash in on the striker amid interest from the Premier League and across Europe this summer.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been heavily linked with both clubs in a bid to bolster their attacking options.

Reports claimed this week that Gyokeres has been included in a 10-man shortlist drawn up by Arsenal sporting director Edu as the Gunners big guns to sign a striker.

Chelsea are also expected to be looking for a striker this summer, with Blues scouts reportedly eyeing the striker for the third time during Sweden’s 5-2 defeat to Portugal last week.

It is also claimed that Italian giants AC Milan are interested in signing Gyokeres.

Gyokeres signed a five-year contract with the club announcing that the striker has a €100m (£85m) release clause, with Coventry reportedly due 15 per cent of a future fee.
