A pizzeria that was left more than $600 out of pocket following a customer’s wacky order has chosen to donate the food to charity in a heartwarming act.

Aroma Pizza House, located in Golden Grove, in Adelaide’s north-east, received a huge order for dozens of items on Thursday evening, including pizza, chiko rolls and calamari.

But the customer who ordered the $600 feast then disappeared, leaving the pizzeria with dozens of boxes of unclaimed food.

Instead of wasting the food, the restaurant decided to donate it to a local charity, Puddle Jumpers, which helps at-risk children and families.

Restaurant owner Benkil Sheh said he searched for nearby charities and found Puddle Jumpers was still open.

“We just tried to help someone in need instead of throwing it in the trash,” he said. The announcer.

The food was distributed by volunteers from the association to children in need.

“Everyone here was so happy, the food was consumed pretty quickly,” said Melanie Tate, general manager of Puddle Jumpers.

This generous act did not go unnoticed as Puddle Jumpers shared photos online of Mr. Sheh and his team delivering the food.

Dozens of social media users commented on the post, praising the kind gesture.

“What a wonderful generosity you are doing, I will pass your name around so everyone in your community can get out there to support you,” one said.

“I hope your act of kindness is well rewarded, with an abundance of new loyal customers,” another user wrote.

Others criticized the customer who pulled the prank.

“This makes me so angry!” »wrote one user.

“Some people just don’t understand what it means to run a business,” another user wrote.

Puddle Jumpers called on locals to support their business by placing orders with the restaurant.

“As families and individuals indulged in delicious pizza, let’s express our gratitude and support for this incredibly generous business,” they said.
