Arnold Schwarzenegger’s annual bodybuilding festival may move to Sydney after COVID-19
Arnold Schwarzenegger was set to attend his annual bodybuilding festival in Melbourne, the Arnold Sports Festival Australia, in March this year.
Due to COVID-19, the event was postponed with 70,000 visitors.
Now the organizers want to host the event in other states, with Sydney at the top of the list.

“Arnold has always been a big fan of Sydney,” said promoter Tony Doherty Confidential to the Daily Telegraph on Thursday.
According to the publication, Tony hopes to host the event in November at the International Convention Center in Darling Harbor.
Tony previously shared his disappointment at the cancellation in an official statement.

“Given the volatile nature of the COVID-19 situation both globally and in Australia, it was very difficult to predict what the situation will be like in March in Victoria,” he said.
“In the interest of our international guests, athletes, exhibitors and commercial partners, it was relevant to take the time to assess the situation and ensure that we make the right decision.
“Our number one priority is to ensure the safety of everyone at the event and even our wider community. Compromising in terms of safety or the perception of the fans or athletes is something we just couldn’t and don’t want to do. ‘

Since its inception in 1989, the Arnold Sports Festival has been a must-see event for all aspiring bodybuilders and sports enthusiasts around the world.
In 1967, Arnold became the youngest person to win the Mr Universe title at the age of 20.
He won three more Mr Universe titles before starting an acting career.
Arnold was also Governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
