Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker faces a race against time to be fit for Saturday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth as the Brazilian shot-stopper is nursing a minor hamstring injury.

The Reds’ No.1 has a minor hamstring problem dating back to earlier this month – it was not an injury sustained in Tuesday’s win over AC Milan at the San Siro – and the club are unsure whether he will be able to recover in time to play this weekend.

As things stand, it might seem a risk to play him against Bournemouth and Arne Slot has faith in his back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who played 26 times last season when Alisson was injured.

But Liverpool will wait for news today and see if Alisson is able to train or not.

“Alisson is doubtful, we’ll see if he’ll train today,” Slot said when asked about the injury news. Harvey Elliott is the other absentee after suffering a broken foot during the international break.
