Footage has revealed the moment a gunman robbed a busy Coles while the supermarket was stopped during a minute’s silence on Remembrance Day.
The man, believed to be aged between 30 and 40, was caught on CCTV using a large kitchen knife to open two cash registers at a Coles in Manuka, Canberra, on Monday.
Police have released footage of the aggravated robbery in a bid to identify the sneaky thief.
The Minute of Silence is celebrated at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the moment the Armistice peace treaty was signed to end the First World War in 1918, in memory of those who died in battle.
ACT Police say the man took advantage of the distraction to take cash from the two cash registers behind the service counter before fleeing on foot.

The alleged robber is described as Caucasian in appearance, with a medium build and short blonde hair.
At the time of the robbery he was wearing a navy blue cap, a blue sweater, dark pants and black sandals.
He also wore a pair of sunglasses tucked into the collar of his sweater.
