A famous dentist who has worked with celebrities including musician Nick Cave and truck boss Lindsay Fox has been accused of beating and threatening to kill a woman.

Paltoglou is charged with making threats to kill, two counts of assault, intentional damage to property and recklessly causing injury.

His lawyer had previously fought to keep his client’s name out of the public domain, but was unsuccessful.

Mr. Paltoglou’s client list also includes movie stars such as Jackson Gallagher, models Sarah Burns and Bonnee Fahlstrom and high-profile sports stars such as Peter Handscomb, Australian Test team cricketer and captain of Victoria.

Paltoglou’s defense attorney, Gavan Burns, objected Friday a request from the media to obtain judicial material, arguing that it could identify the victim.

However, Magistrate Tara Hartnett rejected the objection and instead omitted the victim’s name.

Burns told the court his client had had additional charges brought against him on Thursday and over the weekend.

Successfully requested a continuance to process the new charges and information.

Paltoglou did not address the court during Friday’s hearing and was ordered to return on March 27.

The death threat charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
