An Arizona mother has disappeared hours after going for a run and swim in a popular hiking area, while authorities have arrested her husband on suspicion of assault.

Kelly Paduchowski, 45, was reported missing at 7:30 p.m. on June 30 after she went to exercise on the Campbell Mesa Loop Trails during the day.

The Flagstaff Police Department has issued a missing person alert, saying her white Mazda CX-5 was last seen near the loop-shaped park.

After a day of searching and interviews, authorities arrested Kelly’s husband, Daniel Paduchowski, 58, and charged him with aggravated assault.

Officials also said the 5-foot-7 blonde woman was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray shirt and white running shoes.

In collaboration with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and with the assistance of an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter, a search and rescue operation on foot and horseback was launched throughout the hiking area and near his residence in Flagstaff.

“Since that time, Flagstaff Police Department officers along with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Office have coordinated efforts to find and locate Kelly,” Flagstaff officials said in a statement. Facebook mail.

The Campbell Mesa Trails are a popular trail system surrounded by large forests of old growth ponderosa pine and Gambel oak.

The system includes five loops, the longest being the 5.7-mile Campbell Mesa Loop, which circles the northern and eastern perimeter of the mesa.

These diverse circuits offer a wide variety of seasonal wildflowers, numerous examples of local birdlife and frequent wildlife sightings.
