A 71-year-old great-grandfather was shot dead when he drove to Lyft on Sunday before his 52nd wedding anniversary, and now the Arizona police are on the hunt for his killer.
Harold A. Treadwell III left Baseline Road when he was shot around 12.30 pm at 32nd and Thunderbird St. in Phoenix.
It is unclear how many blocks the car continued to drive after it was fatally injured in the hull and then crossed a median and crashed.
Researchers are & # 39; pretty sure & # 39; that the shot came from outside the vehicle, but there is no indication that it was the target. Treadwell later died in the hospital.

Frances Treadwell wrote in a Facebook post: & # 39; Today is our 52nd wedding anniversary and we spoke just before he was killed and wished each other a HAPPY BIRTHDAY (Thank goodness I was allowed to have that last conversation with him so that I could tell him that I loved him!) & # 39;
Treadwell's wife said she was with her son when a detective knocked on her door at 4.30 to tell her the news.
His son described Treadwell – who is from Indiana and moved to Arizona in 2003 – as a man who enjoyed spending time with his family, looking for gold, and playing tennis and golf.
& # 39; We lean on each other as we try to accept this terrible event and will continue to live together & # 39 ;, Frances wrote in the social media post that was shared on a GoFundMe page titled & # 39; help Fran with expenses & # 39 ;.
